For 22 years, Dr. Stephanie Gouws has dedicated her life to medicine. Recently, she made the decision to venture away from the corporate healthcare system to establish her own independent practice, allowing her to serve patients with the personalized attention they deserve.
Stephanie’s path has not been an easy one. She does not come from family wealth, and for the past 20 years, every cent she earned was directed toward supporting her family members. She worked paycheck to paycheck to care for her parents and her two brothers, who battled alcoholism, as well as her mother, who lived with only one lung. Following her brother's passing, she also took in and supported his two children.
Tragically, one by one, all of these beloved family members have passed away over the last five years. On her arm, she wears a tattoo of their names—adding a new one with each passing. It is a permanent marker of her love, resilience, and lifetime of caregiving.
Despite these challenges, Stephanie persevered, recently completing her Master’s degree in Geriatric Care. Driven by this new expertise and her passion for helping vulnerable populations, she has taken the leap toward her dream: establishing a holistic, multi-disciplinary practice designed to care for the elderly and their families.
The first steps have already been taken. Stephanie is currently operating from a temporary office and has secured a loan for a property in Montana, Pretoria. The house is perfectly situated and offers ample space for her vision, but extensive work is required to make it medically suitable.

Helping patients maintain mobility, rehabilitate after surgeries or falls, and manage chronic pain through movement therapy.
Dedicated beds allowing patients to receive IV antibiotics, iron, or blood transfusions comfortably, without needing expensive hospital admissions.
Although the temporary practice has been active and serving patients for the past three months, the current turnover is not enough to cover the massive capital requirements to make the new property ready.
Because the business is in its first year, commercial banks are unable to provide funding. A professional business plan shows strong fundamental growth, but we need community support to bridge this initial gap.
